Based in the Peak District, their existing site utilised wired connections to bring together systems across multiple warehouses and office premises. This system has been in place for several years and with the growth of the company had become unwieldy, requiring users to login to different wireless networks as they moved around the premises.
Moving forward, Interket wanted to implement a dual wireless system which would allow individuals to move from one warehouse to another without having to reconnect to a network, as well as providing a second network for users with specific permissions – again, this needed to be site-wide.
We undertook an initial survey of the site to understand the scale of infrastructure required and identify the best configuration of wireless access points to ensure maximum coverage and that there were no network black spots and ensure seamless roaming for users when on premises, regardless of their device(s).
We then implemented a secure mesh-based warehousing network utilising a number of unified wireless access points combined with a secure back-office network for staff with the appropriate permissions.
Our solution provides Interket with unified networks which allow users to connection multiple devices to a range of systems seamlessly – reducing interruptions, improving productivity and efficiency and reducing effort for colleagues across the business.
In addition, all of the devices utilised are monitored by our managed cloud system, ensuring that we are able to pro-actively monitor performance, network traffic and uptime and that we can ensure connectivity on an on-going basis. Interket are also supported by our managed IT solutions on a day to day basis.
